WEST CONNECTICUT ROVER CLUB

The West Connecticut Rover Club was created in early 1997 to represent the Rover owners of Connecticut, Western Mass., Eastern New York and Northern Jersey. It was originally founded by Michael Ladden & Peter Goundry. It quickly became one of the largest & most active clubs on the East Coast. The original WCRC web site was launched in April of 1999. The club remained active through 2006 or so. Over the years it was best known for hosting two of the largest Land Rover events in North America in 2000 & 2001 at Killington Vermont called RoverFest. It also was involved in a number of other offroad and social activities both in Connecticut & the surrounding states & Canada. At one time it published a bi-monthly print newsletter entitled The Overland. The club eventually became inactive, although many of its former members & leaders are still very active in the Land Rover community & overlanding in general.

THIS PAGE WAS CREATED TO PRESERVE SOME OF THE PHOTOS, EVENT INFO AND HISTORIC CLUB MEMORIES FROM THE LATE 90'S AND EARLY 2000'S.

Please contact us if you have any photos or memories to share.

CURRENTLY THERE ARE THREE SISTER CLUBS ON THE EAST COAST THAT STILL REMAIN ACTIVE AS OF 2017.

Featured Video From A WCRC Trip To Canada: In May of 1999 a dozen Land Rover's from New England made their way to Ontario Canada for a weekend of off road adventure. The goal was a tough ten mile long trail through mud & remote swamp land that was further complicated by unseasonably warm weather and an epic Canadian mosquito season.

Rover Fest

The West Connecticut Rover Club organized, planned & hosted one of the largest Land Rover gatherings in North American history in 2000 & 2001. RoverFest took place in Killington Vermont and was attended by hundreds of Land Rover enthusiasts from all over the United States & Canada. (Photos & more throw back information coming soon.)
